Trash truck loses its load on Grove Street
Wednesday, July 9th, 2008Traffic was reduced to one lane on Grove Street after a trash truck lost its load in the South bound lane. The Watertown Police Department Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Team investigated this mishap. The vehicle owner was cited for eight violations totaling several hundreds of dollars. It appears one of the pistons holding the rear of the compactor truck was structurally compromised resulting in nearly half the volume of the truck to dump out onto Grove Street. In order to clean up the mess the company needed to bring in a roll-off dumpster and a Bobcat skid steer loader to clear the street of debris.
